The Blue arrows indicate buy setups and the Red arrows sell setups. These setups are based on price action and momentum. This is not a black box mechanical way to trade. The setups on the charts shown are based on a simple entry method. The chart below shows the entry method. But once again it is totally up to the individual trader as how and when to enter the market. |
The Method is based on price and the Momentum Line. Setups are identified when the momentum line and price diverge. You may notice that some of the best signals come when the momentum line is moving either sharply higher or lower and price is correcting opposite this direction. |
The method can be applied to all markets and time frames in the same way. Setups can also be filtered by using a longer time frame momentum indicator. On the chart below you see a 3 minute chart with the momentum indicator of that time frame in RED and the BLUE is the momentum indicator based on the 10 minute bar time frame. One approach could be to use a longer time frame to filter out trades. |
As you can see there are countless ways momentum can be used. A trader would not have to wait for a pull back to enter the market. You could enter and exit with what ever criteria one wants to use and has a acceptable risk level. When to exit from the trades would be totally up to the trader, be it a profit target, trailing stop etc. |
